Scott's Garden Wedding

On November 20th, Alison & Brett made it official at Scott's Garden in Walnut Creek. It was a beautiful venue and they were a beautiful couple, which made for a pretty good combo.

Nathalie and I had a blast shooting their wedding and we wish them the best down under in Australia.

Lara & Her Belly

I couldn't have asked for a more perfect model for my first prego portrait session. I didn't have to work very hard for some great looking pictures of Lara at six months and looking fantastic.

Looking forward to welcoming him/her into the world in a few months...

Erinne & Jim's Engagement

Congratulations to Erinne & Jim on their engagement, upcoming wedding and new home.

It's always great to see an old friend so happy and in love...

A Giant 33

Following the tradition of always trying to out-do eachother for our birthday, Nathalie once again set the bar high this year. For my 33rd, she had me convinced that we were headed out of town, but instead somehow landed 16 of the best seats in Pac Bell Park to watch Lincecum battle Zambrano and the Cubs for a chance at the post season. Well, the Giants lost and didn't make the playoffs, but I still got drunk with my wife and a group of my closests friends & family and managed to have a fantasic time. Thank you Nathalie...

The Lake 2009

Honnedaga Lake is a place that we all hold very close to our hearts. As a kid, it was our ticket to a virtually untouched wilderness without boundaries. We were free to explore and let the woods absorb all the youthful energy we had to offer. As an adult, not much has changed. The lake is still an escape and its natural beauty and tranquility are unmatched. It runs so deep in family history and traditions that it's appreciated beyond words.
This year, the lake added a new memory. Brett proposed to Morgan during a late night canoe paddle under the stars on Jones Lake. The still silence of the Adirondacks was briefly broken as Brett yelled from the middle of the lake, "She said YES!". I couldn't be happier for my cousin and selfishly am pleased to add one of my best friends to the family.

High Sierra Wedding

Nathan & Jennie got married just north of Sequoia National Park in the Sierras. Not only was it a beautiful wedding, but thanks to them, I now know of a sweet campsite that you'll never find on any map.

The band was called Three Bags Full, aka The Kevin Hill Trio. They set up deep in the woods and played until complete blackness overtook the meadow. A perfect end to a perfect day.

The Grand

Since my first time in Wyoming, the majestic peaks of the Tetons have always drawn me in. Hands down the most beautiful mountains in the states, Teton National Park would provide a perfect setting for our first alpine climbing experience.  In the good company of Craig, Rod & Tien, we filled up the van and decided to make a road trip out of it.

After a Truckee horseshoe tournament, a rotisserie pig, an abalone feed, the road to Winnemucca, a jackpot in Jackpot, a barefoot round of Idaho golf and a beer swilling session at The Stagecoach, we summited The Grand on Friday, July 24 at 8:30am (13,760 feet (4,194.05 meters).

Flowers of Sarah Padilla Design

Last weekend I tagged along with my friend Sarah to watch her work her floral magic for a beautiful wedding reception at the Olympic Club and ceremony at St. Ignatius Church. Her husband (Jay) and father (Dave) unloaded a Uhaul truck full of her masterpieces and set the stage for another perfect wedding day.

To see more of her work, go to Sarah Padilla Design.

Dewey Gold Country - Murphys

Lucky enough to tag along to the Annual Dewey Gold Country Trip, Nathalie and I quickly fell in love with Murphys. The town had it all--an outstanding watering hole (The Murphys Hotel), a Main Street full of classic cars and plenty of Chuck Dewey martinis.

After enduring months of Brett Dewey talking up his magic fishing hole, it was almost a guarantee that the trout weren't going to be biting any fly that was tossed their direction. Good thing the beer was cold and the river was still picturesque.

Next year's trip is already on the calendar...

Natasha & Kevin Anderson's Wedding Day

Natasha & Kevin, the new happiest couple in town, got married in Squaw Valley, CA. Kevin's dad, Scott, delivered the perfect ceremony and everyone there did their best to celebrate the joining of two great people. Here are a few images from their big day.

I have more wedding images on my website, Brooks Allen Photography. Check 'em out.

Evolution of Revolution

High on the Bolivian Altiplano, we crossed the Salar Uyani and the Sur La Paz desert into Northern Argentina. The 260 square kilometer salt flat provided for 360 degree views of a horizon full of nothing but whiteness.

This image, The Evolution of Revolution, was one of our favorites. Turns out it was one of Co-Motion Cycles' as well.

The Omlids

Portland, OR - Travis and Haley tied the night at the Crystal Ballroom. It was an honor to stand up alongside two very dear friends as they exchanged their vows.

I wish them a lifetime of love, laughter and happiness...
